RESEARCH AND SCHOLARLY INTERESTS
My scholarly activities have centered on computer-aided instructional materials that complement my teaching responsibilities. Because microscopic anatomy is a visual discipline that involves considerable instructor-student verification, it readily lends itself to computer applications. I have headed a team that has produced a CD atlas of digital images taken from our glass microscopic loan slides and organized these images into laboratory units. These units substitute for a hands-on laboratory for the undergraduate and medical students and as review/self-study units that augment the histology labs for dental and graduate students. The images incorporated in the CD will now serve as the basis for the production of computer-aided text tutorials to augment the atlas.
